According to reports, two messages written in blood have been found on the walls of the Indian consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif.
Though the operations to neutralise all terrorists at Pathankot Air Base in India and Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan are over, it now appears that the attacks were carried out to take the revenge for Afzal Guru's hanging, the main accused in the Parliament attack.
According to reports, two messages written in blood have been found on the walls of the Indian consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif.
"'Afzal Guru ka Intekam' (revenge for Afzal Guru), reads the first message, while the other reads 'Ek shaheed, hazaar Fidayeen' (one martyr thousand suicide bombers)," reported ibnlive.com

An intense 25-hour gun-battle between security forces and terrorists outside the Indian Consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif came to end on Tuesday night with the killing of all the attackers who attempted to storm the Mission building.
A leading daily also reported that the terrorists involved in the Pathankot attack had told Rajesh Verma, a Gurdaspur resident they had taken hostage, that they were going to attack the airbase to avenge the hanging of Afzal Guru.
Meanwhile, as the Pakistan link to the Pathankot attack became clear, its Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called up his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Tuesday to promise a probe into the "specific and actionable" information provided and a "prompt and decisive action" against the terrorists behind it.
Sharif conveyed his "heartfelt sadness and grief" on the loss of lives in the attack and "pointed out to the Indian Prime Minister that whenever a serious effort for bringing peace between the two countries was underway, terrorists try to derail the process", said a statement issued by his office.
