New Delhi: Class 9 student kills father for fighting with his mother

A Class 9th student allegedly stabbed his 40-year-old father to death with a dagger for fighting with his mother at their residence in Rohini area of outer Delhi.

The incident took place around 1 am last night when a scuffle broke out between Babu Singh and his wife.

Police said that Singh, who was an autorickshaw driver, lived with his three sons, a daughter and wife in Rohini Sector 16.

"Singh allegedly came drunk last night from his work and soon had a fight with his wife over a petty issue. The fight turned ugly when Singh's minor son, who is a class 9th student, attacked him with his Kirpan," said a senior police officer.

Police said that after the incident, Singh was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. "We have apprehended minor accused and further investigation is on," officer added.
