West Bengal PCC president Adhir Chowdhury today said that most of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, including ministers, would be behind the bars if CBI probes into the Saradha cheat fund scam. "Most of the TMC leaders would be in jail if CBI investigates into the Saradha cheat fund scam," Chowdhury said while speaking at an election rally here.

Claiming that the TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was scared that the CBI investigation would open up a can of worms. Banerjee is scared of the CBI investigation. She knows that the outcome of the probe would not be good for her party, Chowdhury said.

The Congress leader further rubbished Banerjee's allegations that the Centre was unable to provide funds for 100 days' work under the MNREGA to the state and blamed the state for failing to use the funds under the scheme. "In Mizoram people gets work for 88 days and here people does not have work even for 30 days... This state government is sitting on the funds the Centre has been providing... They have failed to utilised it," he said.
