Jaipur experienced the lowest temperature of the season on Sunday. City’s minimum temperature was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius which is the lowest so far this season in the past six years.
Throughout Sunday the sky remained cloudy as cold wave kept the residents indoors and all wrapped up in woollens.
Met department has predicted that on Monday too there will be partly cloudy sky and rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas of Jaipur. The only silver lining is that there may be rise in the temperature on Monday in the city.
Meanwhile elsewhere in the state also the weather broke record of last 10 years. Fatehpur experienced nail biting cold and recorded the lowest temperature after 10 years at -3.3 degrees Celsius. Churu too experienced severe cold wave and recorded temperature at -0.5 degrees C.
In Mt Abu also temperature was recorded at -1 degrees C.
Beside biting and shivering wave, civic water supply in Churu got frozen on Sunday, while icy flakes were seen in upper layer of Nakki Lake in Mount Abu.
The Met department has warned that temperature in the state may drop further and would be accompanied by ground frost at isolated places in coming two days. The Met also predicts hail storm in some isolated places in east Rajasthan during the next 48 hours.
