The difference of opinion among political parties should end after elections and they should work together for the good of the country, BJP MP from Ghaziabad and Union Minister General (retired) VK Singh said on Thursday.

"Difference of opinion on the basis of political parties and ideologies must cease after elections are over and all political parties must think and work for the good of the country and masses," the State Minister for Development of North Eastern Region said while inaugurating the Jan Dhan Yojana at the Collectorate Meeting Hall here.

The benefits of the Jan Dhan Yojna of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will percolate to each and every village of India, he said. On being asked if he has appointed any person here as "MP Representative" who the public can contact for redress of their grievance in his absence, Singh said, "I have more than 300 representatives in the constituency and the public can approach them with their grievance."

On a question about erratic power supply in the district, Singh said, "public has to go to Lucknow for this". On the occasion, District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma said 288 public facilitation camps were organised in the district and 56,000 bank accounts with zero balance were opened in various banks. All the account holders will enjoy the benefit of an accident insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh.

It had been made mandatory for 375 branches of various banks in the district to open at least 125 saving bank accounts with zero balance.

For accomplishing this target, District Treasury Officer Vishwajeet Rai has been appointed as the Nodal Officer, he said.
