From Sunday, Haryana will be even more connected to Delhi via Metro’s Bahadurgarh-Mundka corridor on the Green Line. Commercial operations will commence from 4 pm. This will be the third line connecting the state to the national capital — Yellow and Violet link Gurugram and Faridabad respectively.

The 11.83 km long route will not only connect Bahadurgarh to New Delhi, it will also connect the centre with places on the western fringes such as Mundka, Ghevra and Tikri Kalan. It will facilitate the daily commute of lakhs of workers who travel from Delhi to industrial units in Mundka and Bahadurgarh.

“Passenger services on the City Park (Bahadurgarh) —Mundka Metro corridor of the Delhi Metro will start at 4. A total of 20 trains will be put into service for the entire Inderlok/Kirti Nagar–City Park section,” said Anuj Dyal, executive director of corporate communication, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, adding, “Every alternate train from Mundka will go up to City Park in Bahadurgarh and a frequency of around 8 minutes will be maintained between Mundka and City Park. The total running time between Inderlok/Kirti Nagar and City Park (Bahadurgarh) will be about 50 minutes.”

The corridor will have seven elevated stations. Of these, four will be in Delhi and the remaining in Haryana.
