CISF head constable arrested for 'molesting' woman on flight

The incident took place on May 4 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Raghubir Prasad was arrested on the basis of victim's complaint.

Delhi Airport police in a report recently conveyed that a head constable of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was arrested last week for allegedly molesting a 32-year-old woman on an IndiGo flight from Goa. The woman is a senior manager with a multinational firm 

The Indian Express reported that the incident took place on May 4 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) Dinesh Kumar Gupta said that the accused, Raghubir Prasad hails from Rajasthan and was posted in Karnataka. He was on a leave and travelling to his native place when the incident took place. The officer also conveyed that he has been released on bail as of now.

The officer said that on the basis of victim’s complain, the 56-year-old  CISF personnel was booked under Section 354-A (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty).

The daily's report mentions that the victim was sitting in a window seat, Prasad was on the aisle seat and the middle seat was vacant. The crew members rushed to her aid when she started screamed for help. She told them that Prasad had been staring at her since the journey began. Fellow passengers noticed that he made a lewd gesture at her before the flight took off.

Prasad was arrested on the basis of victim's complain and produced before the court. The court later granted bail to CISF personnel.
