Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said BJP did not fulfil even a single promise it had made during last year's Lok Sabha elections and just like electricity, the party-led Central government was "giving shocks to people".

Yadav, who inaugurated the first 500 MW unit of Anpara D power project here, said, "The BJP-led Central government gives shock to people just like electricity. In its 10-month tenure, the NDA government did not fulfil even a single promise."

The Chief Minister also said he was fortunate to inaugurate the project, the foundation stone of which was laid 21 years back when his father Mulayam Singh Yadav was Chief Minister.

He said, "Consensus has been reached on starting Anpara E project and its foundation stone will be laid soon." Yadav also inaugurated seventh upgraded 120 MW unit at Harduaganj.

The CM said his government had set a target of providing 16 hours of power supply in rural areas and 22 hours to 24 hours supply in urban areas by October 2016.

Adequate arrangements have been made for power purchase so that problems were not faced in distribution, he added.

On Oppositions' charges of corruption in police recruitment in the state, he said they fail to tell anything in the Assembly that at what level corruption took place and in which recruitment.

The Chief Minister said his government would simplify competitions for education and jobs, but will strengthen the training process.
