Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today criticised BJP on huge election expenditure, saying that it would only abet corruption.
"These were the first elections in which all the mediums of media were used for campaigning... if so much money is spent on canvassing, it would only increase corruption," Yadav said in the UP Assembly.
"BJP might have raised the issues of development, but it fought the elections on a communal agenda," the chief minister alleged
Yadav said that though his government did a lot of good work, it lagged behind the BJP in publicity.
He also sought to know from the BJP members in the House when the state would get its power quota raised by the NDA government at the Centre.
