The ongoing annual film festival has been witness to some stunning hair and make-up looks
Since last week, actors and models alike have been playing dress up for the Cannes Film Festival. As the red carpet rolled out by the French Riviera, celebrities continued to stun in the finest couture with equally envy-worthy hair and make-up dos. From variations of the red lip to winged liner looks and braided dos, there was much beauty inspo for weeks to come.
Adriana Lima
Adriana made heads turn with her slicked back tresses and bold red lip. Clint Fernandes, make-up expert explains this is very on trend, “The slicked back look was seen at the Grammy’s and Oscars too. With the use of gel one can recreate this sculpted look and have lots of fun with it too.”
Deepika Padukone
Deepika grabbed eyeballs for her deep green cat eye that was colour-coordinated eith her gown. Clint says, “I feel matching the eye colour to the gown is a bit much. Instead, she could’ve opted for a deep blue liner and a touch of green on the inner corners of the eye. Full points for the top knot though that suits Deepika’s face well.”
Sara Sampaio
While Sara Kept her lips in a muted pale pink, she played up her eyes with a sultry smudgy look. “This is a good variation from the boring smokey eye. You simply need to apply liner and smudge with your fingers for an unfinished yet edgy look,” says Vipul Bhagat, make-up expert.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya highlighted her eyes with a touch of blue liner and finished off with a bold tangerine pout. “The blue and orange combination is quite nice. The orange shade pops well and when teamed with a soothing blue liner it complements the entire look,” explains Clint.
Bella Hadid
While Bella kept her hair fuss free in a high pony, she let her eyes do the talking by opting for a cat eye. Her red lip matched her gown. “This definitely helps bring out Bella’s small deep set eyes,” comments Clint. Vipul Bhagat, make-up expert adds a red lip gives a dressy sort of plump look to the pout.
Petra Nemcova
Petra opted for lined eyes and a pale pout but it was her locks that really stood out. She pulled them back in a classic high pony with two braids on either side. Vipul explains people are bored of curls and open locks and prefer braids as it’s open to experimentation. “They give a romantic touch and add texture and thickness to hair,” he says.
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam channelled a grecian goddess look with an intricate braid framing her head like a crown and loose wavy locks. Red lips and a touch of liner and shimmery shadow added to the great finish.
Emily Ratajkowski
Emily opted for a sexy cat eye look. But it was her wispy braid with bangs framing her face that really added a glamorous touch to her look. The black ribbon that held her braid in place worked beautifully with her black lacey ensemble.
