Deadpool 2 is one of the highly anticipated superhero movies of 2018. It also makes a triad of potential blockbusters because it's wedged between Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story. But that potential is being threatened by the reactions of about test screenings came out.

According to We Got This Covered, audiences are not taking to the film in test screenings and as a result have stunned 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the movie.

Blogger and former IGN editor Jeremy Conrad was one of the first ones to talk post on Twitter about the flimsy plot of the movie.

After Fox threatened legal action, Conrad deleted the tweets. The now deleted tweets said, "Fox screened Deadpool 2 tonight (not Dark Phoenix again) and…yikes! First reaction wasn’t what I expected to hear."

He also talked about how Venessa's character is killed off in first ten minutes of the movie. Quite 'women in a refrigerator' trope for the character.

Conrad continued, "The story basically surrounds a brat kid who someday will kill someone’s family (and that character is a new introduction in this movie). It’s kind of like the kid in Looper who will grow up to be an evil crime lord. In a movie that’s two hours long, that’s a pretty flimsy plot to stretch things across, especially with the heart of the first movie and the person who drove that plot out of the picture.”

But according to Collider editor Steven Weintraub tweeted that that report was false and that the film tested really well according to his sources.

So are the negative reactions the reason why Deadpool 2 reshoots have been ordered?

The Collider report says that the test screenings showed that audiences would like to see more of Domino and Cable. So this is what director David Leitch had been doing for the month of February.

Bringing back the wedged in part, Infinity War and Solo are already being bullish about their promotions. With mere two months to the release, the viral marketing geniuses of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool camp come across relatively silent. Is it because the movie is a dud? Or is it part of their marketing stunt?

Fans will have to wait until the reviews come out, or if not one for the reviews, they will have to wait until May 18 to see Deadpool 2 in theatres and decide for themselves.
