Dr. Lakdawala who has been treating Eman says, "She (Eman's sister) is saying she will ruin my career".
Eman's sister Shaimaa Selim has called bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala a liar in a video uploaded online. In the video that has English subtitles, Shaimaa speaks in Arabic, and says that Eman is not able to move and looks bluish. "She does not talk at all. She is not able to move and she looks bluish. No improvement," Shaimaa says.
"Everything was a lie," she is heard saying. The video was recorded on April 14 inside Eman's room at Saifee hospital where she is staying. Eman had suffered from a stroke three years back as a result of which she suffers seizures several times a day.
"Eman is in critical condition since the past one-and-a-half month She is on massive medications to stop the brain activity," Shaimaa alleges. "They said they will arrange for a CT scan. The hospital is not equipped to handle such a case. She (Eman) didn't lose 240 or 260 kgs She is really helpless to leave this place," Shaimaa went on, in an emotional tone. "Dr Muffazal cheated us," she added.

"The entire story is a fabricated. Eman used to have convulsions and we believe she has scar epilepsy. Until we do a CT scan on Tuesday we will not know. So far Eman was too big to fit into any CT scan machine," he said, adding that the incident has shaken him.
Shaimaa was told by Saifee Hospital that Eman will be discharged in the next 15 days. "She has asked the management to guarantee that she will walk. No doctor can guarantee that. We were the only ones who agreed to treat her. She was blue when she came to us. We treated that," Dr Lakdawala said, adding that Shaimaa was now threatening the hospital management. A few weeks back the bariatric surgeon had said that while Eman has lost a lot of weight, walking might be a distant dream. Genetic tests had earlier revealed that her obesity was linked to a rare genetic problem.
"What we are saying that you can't threaten us. She (Shaimaa) is saying she will ruin my career," Dr Lakdawala said. "We have a special bed that is calibrated for Eman and when we last weighed her she was 171 kgs. She is accusing us of fabricating it," he added.
"We continue to treat her sister despite this and getting Eman well is our only priority," Dr Lakdawala said.

Eman Ahmed is the only one with a rare type of gene defect in the world that is behind her obesity. A variant on the LEPR gene as the reason for her size, said the results of a genetic test in March.
Eman is currently 171 kg according to Dr Lakdawala.
