Zac Efron to star in 'Baywatch' movie

High School Musical star Zac Efron has been added to the cast ensemble of Baywatch movie, joining Dwayne The Rock Johnson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the feature film will revolve around on a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard Johnson who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead Efron in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.

Actor Dwayne Jonhson took to twitter for expressing his joy over Efron's addition in the cast-

The film is based on a classic TV series of the same name. The original beach lifeguard series starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. It's unclear if any of them will appear in the big-screen version. Efron, 27, was last seen in R-rated comedy Neighbors and is expected to return for the sequel. He will next star in We Are Your Friends, Dirty Grandpa, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
