Varun Dhawan's acting career seems to be on a roll. After impressing fans with some intense performance in Badlapur, there was an equal share of fun and light-hearted roles for the Student of the year actor in ABCD 2 and Dilwale.

However, junior Dhawan seemed to have taken a liking to serious roles. And which is why buzz has it that Varun Dhawan will be next seen the playing the role of  as sharpshooter Feroz Konkani. An aide of Dawood Ibrahim in the early 1990s, Feroz was a partake of many high profile murders including that of the music baron Gulshan Kumar.

Well, while we are completely aware of Bollywood's fascination with crime dramas and gangster recalls, it would be interesting to see Varun in this dark role. A source close the film had said, “A trial chase sequence has been filmed in the exact location of Gulshanji’s murder. The film is a re-enactment of real-life incidents and the location of the Jeeteshwar Mahadev Mandir in Andheri has been used for the scene," as reported by Bollywood Life.com.

The film will be produced by Ashok Nanda and is rumoured to be centred around the gang wars of 1990's.It was also reported that Irrfan Khan will essay the role of  renowned Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria who arrests Konkani in the end.

Though it has not been clear whether Varun has given his consent on signing the film but our hopes are up to see this always jovial Varun playing the infamous gangster. Agree?
