Actress Asin has recently completed shooting for Bol Bachchan and has now moved on to her next project. The actor, who has always wanted to do an action film is finally realising her dream as she has been paired opposite actor Akshay Kumar in Khiladi 786. The duo has also apparently wrapped up the first schedule of the film, which was being shot in Mumbai. Talking about it, she says, “It’s a great opportunity for me, especially because I already knew Akshay. I have worked with him and I know how professional he is. We get along very well. What I like best about Akshay is that he is very witty. He makes you feel really good and is one of my best co-stars. Also, after Housefull 2, people have said our on-screen chemistry is pretty good. Plus, action is a genre I have always wanted to attempt,” she says.

The actor, who is in Bollywood since a couple of years is a big name down South but Asin says she has taken pretty well to Bollywood. “I think people have accepted me. It is not really easy for an actor from an entirely different set up to make an entry in Bollywood. I am satisfied and content with the fact that both the South and the Hindi film industry are happy with me. I have been fortunate enough to have been accepted and treated as an insider,” reveals Asin as she talks about what keeps her going. “I think it is my self-belief and confidence that keeps me going. I haven’t had any hereditary entitlements, no godfather and no millionaire boyfriends either, so what I am today is pretty much because of me. My parents have been very supportive and most of the credit actually goes to them.”

Asin also reveals that in a competitive era like this, she is her worst critic. “My parents have been really sweet to me. We are a small family and they are the people I lean on for support, help and guidance all the time. But when it comes to my films, I tend to be critical of my performance to the point of being negative. My friends and people around me keep telling me that I am being too harsh on myself and that I must try and look at the positive side. I have been trying to do just that,” she smiles.
