On Friday night Salman Khan told his followers (12 million) on Twitter to follow Sylvester Stallone. He told his fans that Sly is “Isse beheter body, director, writer, insaan koi nahi hai. I’ve always followed him in life, but my fault not on social media. Aapke hero ka hero” and added that he still trains to Eye Of The Tiger from Sly’s film Rocky.  Stallone’s reply was prompt. He wrote back, “Would like to thank the super talented Indian superstar Salman Khan the compliment he tweeted. We should do an action film together.”   Shortly after that,  Sly posted on his account, “Salman, I am very impressed with your many devoted fans. To make a great action film successful takes MANY great fans who support you, Sly. Mabye, the New EXPENDABLES.” That was enough to create a mad frenzy for the fans of both superstars.

Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, another huge Sly fan, is the only filmmaker in the country who is still in touch with Stallone, after casting him in his production, Kambakkht Ishq. He is also friends with Salman Khan for the last two dacades. Who better than him to  bring the two together?

Says Sajid, “It’s almost like deja vu. A couple of years ago, when I was in Hollywood, I had met Stallone and had even narrated a couple of scripts to him. Though he had liked them, for some reason the films didn’t work out. Bringing Salman and Stallone together would be a great idea. If I come across a great script or if someone can write it, then I would love to cast them together. But a script keeping the two iconic stars in mind needs to be written.” Sajid and Stallone have even had intense discussions over Hindi films. Sajid told him about films like Gadar, Karan Arjun and other films that he thought would interest the Hollywood actor.

Sajid, who has known both actors closely, draws a lot of similarities between the two of them. “They both are quite similar in a lot of ways. Salman likes to travel alone and doesn’t create a hue and cry with a big entourage, Stallone is like that, too. Both are very grounded, down-to-earth people. Stallone will sit wherever and won’t have any starry tantrums. Salman is the same and never demands that he will only sit in a vanity van. It will be very interesting to see the two in a film together,” he says.
