She has crooned chartbusters like Samjhawan (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania), Highway's Sooha Saha (Highway), Ik Kudi (Udta Punjab) and the club remix of the title track for Dear Zindagi. But Alia Bhatt had everyone in a surprise by not getting into the recording studio for her upcoming release, Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Naturally, her fans were disappointed and as a result, started a hashtag #WewantHumsafarbyAlia in their quest to urge the actress to sing the female version of Humsafar by Akhil Sachdeva. And the Bhatt girl has granted her fans' wish.

Recently, the 23-year-old actress recorded Humsafar and is now shooting a special video with co-star Varun Dhawan as well. An insider told a tabloid, "Alia and Varun were initially scheduled to shoot the video for the promotional number on Monday in Mumbai. The shoot is now happening today. It will be aired on music channels after the film's release."

Recently, the young actress told the tabloid that she would love to sing in her upcoming films, be it Ayan Mukerji's Dragon, and Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boys as well. "I enjoy singing although right now my schedule is crazy. It's so hectic that I don't even get to sleep at night. The idea is to reach out to everyone across the country, down to the remotest corner. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is a film that you can't box down to one particular audience, it's a universal entertainer," she said.
