Dussehra 2019: Anushka Shetty, Mahesh Babu and other South Indian celebrities extend wishes to their fans

Dussehra has managed to bring the whole country together, in order to celebrated Vijayadashami. It is believed that on this day Maa Durga, who was worshipped throughout the nine nights (navaratri) defeated Mahishasura. While many wish their friends and families, others go to celebrate the festival.

On this day, apart from friends and family, celebrities extended their wishes to fans. Bollywood celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi wished their fans. Meanwhile celebrities from South Indian film industry were not far behind either.

Mahesh Babu, Anushka Shetty and even Kajal Aggarwal went on to extend wishes of Dussehra to their fans. Anushka Shetty shared a plain image of 'Happy Dussehra'. Meanwhile Mahesh Babu wrote, “On this auspicious occasion, May joy, prosperity and happiness be with you throughout the year. Have a joyous and blessed Dussehra.”

The idols of goddess Durga are immersed in water today, thus signifying that she departs from the material world. Meanwhile North Indian celebrate the festival a little differently. They believe that it is the day when Lord Ram killed Raavan in Sri Lanka and brought Goddess Sita back home.
