The banner renowned for producing romantic films is out with another romantic drama—'Daawat-e-Ishq'—directed by Habib Faisal and produced by Aditya Chopra. The movie, featuring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra as the lead pair, is set against the amalgamation of the two different spicy cultures from Lucknow and Hyderabad to prepare 'Daawat-e-Ishq'.

The music of the movie is composed by Sajid-Wajid, whose attempt to bring in the flavour of the two cultural cities into their music blends quite well with the plot. The seven-song album of 'Daawat-e-Ishq' majorly consists of Kawalis and peppy songs, which don't appeal much, rather sounds alike other Bollywood albums from the '90s.

The only song that manages to grab some attention is 'Shayarana' sung by Shalmali Kholgade. Apart from other songs, Shayrana is all western with guitar and drums heard at the backdrop. Shalmali has done it again after bagging much appreciation for her previous song, Pareshan, for Parineeti.

Daawat-e-Ishq
The title track of the movie sounds like a Kawali that appears too long after 2 minutes. To break the monotony of the song, it paces up toward the end to mark a nice ending to it.

Mannat
Mannat is a romantic number sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam and Keerthi Sagathia, which has two versions in the album. Mannat reprise is a calmer version of the original song, which loses the romantic feel in the song and becomes too heavy to be a romantic song.

Rangreli
Deviating from the theme of Hyderabad and Lucknow, the song takes its listeners to a colourful wedding in Punjab (in the song). Overpowered with dhol and band-baaja, the song seems cheerful.

Jaadu Tone Waliyan
This song is much influenced by Punjabi accent and music, both. To add a little twist to the song, one can hear a western hint to the song as well.

Daawat-e-Ishq Instrumental
The instrumental is the ensemble of all the songs and patches used in the movie. Aditya's dialogues from the movie, reading out the menu card, are also infused to make it interesting.
