Rumours were rife that either Hrithik Roshan or Neil Nitin Mukesh will step into the shoes of Arnold Schwarzenegger after he opted out of the sequel to Robot, starring Rajinikanth. The film, now titled 2.0- Sequel of Robot will instead have Akshay Kumar playing the main villain.

Yes, you heard it right. Akshay who will have an equally important role in the film will play Rajini sir's arch nemesis in the film's sequel. Known for his perfectly sculpted body and his action avatar, we feel Akki is the perfect choice for the film. Not just that, having Akshay on board will also ensure that the film has a vast audience reach all over the country, especially in the North.

Also, we have never seen Rajinikanth and Akshay team up before so this film will also be an interesting watch for the same reason. Superstar Rajinikanth and the leading lady Amy Jackson were shooting for the film when Akshay and Chairman of Lyca Group Subas Karan, Oscar Award winning music director AR Rahman and others joined the crew consisting of cinematographer Nirav Shah, art director Muthuraj, VFX supervisor Srinvas Mohan on the first day of the shoot.

Ace dialogue writer Jayamohan (Tamil) is paring up with Shankar for the first time. Antony will be editing the film while Oscar Award winner Resul Pookutty is handling the sound designing.
