Bengali director Ritabrata Bhattacharya's upcoming film is set to showcase the socio- political situation in West Bengal following ponzi scam that rocked the state in past one year.

Titled 'Chokbaaz', the film will also refer to the issue of cash crunch, which people faced during demonetisation in the country.

"It shows how every single crisis has only affected the common man, while the big fishes have gotten away. It shows how black marketing and money laundering are taking place in a brazen manner," Ritabrata said.

Ritabrata, who had earlier helmed "Shondhe Namar Age" and "Basanta Utsav", however, said his new film does not directly name any person or issue.

He said while the incidents in the film are purely fictitious, "there could be similarities with certain people we see in real life."

The film features Saswata Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee, Manoj Mitra and Mumtaz Sorcar, who is in the key role and playing a super model in the movie.

"I personally know many models but I have built up the character drawing from my own references and it does not resemble any real life super model," she said.
