When Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James held a Q&A on Twitter on Monday, she probably was not prepared to answer the barrage of questions thrown at her.
James held the Q&A for fans to promote her 50 Shades of Grey spin-off novel. However, detractors and critics soon bombarded her with questions mocking her work.
Using the hashtag #AskELJames, tweets insulting her writing abilities, satirising her dislike for independent women and mocking lines from her book, were sent to her. It looked like nothing was off limits. Many compared her to Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, stating her book made Meyer's work look better. 50 Shades of Grey started off as fan fiction based on the Twilight series.
People also took the opportunity to express their outrage about the message her novel was sending to women, which they felt was encouraging women to stay abusive relationships.
Whether your a concerned fan or curious about the tweets, you want to read this conversation. The #AskELJames comments are so bad, you can't take your eyes off it.

#AskELJames you do realize that if Grey wasn't a billionaire, the 50 Shades trilogy would be one hell of a Law & Order episode?

Despite the enormous insults and jokes on Twitter, James answered questions for an hour as she had promised, but did not respond to her haters. She instead chose to thank all participants for an "interesting hour" after the Q&A ended.
Off to meet the competition winners, now. Thanks so much for an interesting hour... :D
