Actress Kate Hudson wrote a poem expressing her desire for change after the fatal shootings of Sterling and Castile and the killings of police officers in Dallas. These incidents have compelled many celebrities to voice out messages of peace and harmony.

The Almost Famous star took to Instagram to share the poem. She specifically noted Sterling, Castile, Orlando's Pulse nightclub massacre, the Dallas shootings, and recent terror attacks around the world.

"These last few months have brought so much sadness. From Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Orlando shooting, Dallas, to terrorist attacks of Bangladesh, Istanbul, Baghdad, Somalia," the 37-year-old captioned the poem.

"Everyday there is violence like this reported and not reported. It becomes overwhelming that there could be such hatred and senseless killing. When I can't make sense of things I just start to write. I don't usually share my writing but I felt a desire to put this out there. Peace," she added.

The poem linked the tragedies with a phrase referring to a bullet.

"When the silver drops who wins / Shot in the dark / Why, We can t let fear rule / For then we are too responsible for a world so cruel / Fear is who takes the shot in the dark / And we must stop sitting back and watching this silver drop," the poem read.

Hudson is one of many celebrities who have spoken out about the recent tragedies, including Beyonce, Jay Z, Jennifer Lopez and Lin Manuel-Miranda and Michael B Jordon.
