Ahead of Tamil Nadu polls, actress Namitha joins Jayalalithaa's AIADMK

Actress Namitha joined the AIADMK in the presence Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in Trichy on Saturday.

On Friday, there were reports that the CM had written to the actress with regard to joining the party.

There has been no announcement on whether Namitha will contest the upcoming state polls or campaign for the party.

The actress debuted in the Telugu films with the film Sontham and in Tamil films with Engal Anna. She found success in the two industries for a couple of years.

Namitha has not been seen in many films in the last few years.
