Children of the 60-year-old woman allegedly stabbed to death by her husband want their father to be sent to the gallows. "I don't want to see my father's face. That man should be hanged till death," a shocked and distressed Vartika Monga cried, unable to comprehend the loss.

Sobbing uncontrollably at the South Campus Police station the 28-year old woman recounted how problems between her parents started since her birth. "My mother sought justice for everyone and was only tolerating him because of us. She did not divorce him as she wanted us to get settled and not have any problems," she said.

He used to hit my mother in our absence. We tried to rescue her whenever he did that in front of us," said Vartika.

Dhawal Monga, her son also feels that their father had planned the murder. "I am unable to call him my father. He knew he can't do anything to her as we were at home to protect her. Hence he took her out and killed her," added the son.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning when the accused identified as Mukesh Monga was in the car with his wife Manju Monga. The couple lived in Hari Nagar with their two children. Mukesh worked as a manager for a music school in South Delhi's Anand Niketan area whereas Manju worked at a boutique.

The couple was sitting in their Santro car when an argument broke out between them. Rajkumar an eyewitness who was present at the location said that he saw the car being parked in a corner. "I noticed that the two were having a fight. Later I saw the man stabbing her. When I ran to the car he drove it away but a Police Control Room (PCR) car coming from the opposite direction intercepted him," said Rajkumar.

The PCR car intercepted and arrested the accused from the crime scene. The woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds on her. The man was in an inebriated state during the time of the incident. police said. "The accused had kept the murder weapon under his seat. The reason behind the act is not clear. A case of murder has been registered. Further investigations are underway," said Additional DCP (South) Nupur Prasad.

According to the children Mukesh did not come home on Tuesday night. "I think he planned the killing as he had a knife with him already," said Vartika Monga.
