On the other hand, the eldest one, six-year-old Anuradha has not stopped shedding tears after she was told her little brother was no more.
Six-year-old sister of Chirag while being clueless about what is going on around her roams in the room, in her black and green frock, giggling and pointing out at the relatives who are here to console the family members. At the same time, making little sense of the death of her 8-month-old brother, Anuradha is crying in her grandmother Mohini Devi's lap.
While Ananya is running around the room where the family members are mourning the death of Chirag, she has been told that her mother has gone to the hospital but she could be seen asking about her baby brother. On the other hand, the eldest one, six-year-old Anuradha has not stopped shedding tears after she was told her little brother was no more. Choking while crying, she holds her grandmother's saree tight as she buries her face inside.
"We all would play together during the day at our dadi's (grandmother) house. We were living with our grandmother after my another brother Shivam died. Our mother never thrashed us or harmed us," said Anuradha.
The family was supposed to leave on April 30 for Bihar to attend Sarika's (mother) brother's wedding on May 11."The tickets were booked and we all were going to the wedding, but now I don't care about anything," said Shankar (Chirag's father).
Talking about Sarika's behaviour, relatives and neighbours stated that the woman would not come out much or talk to people. "She would randomly abuse or start talking to herself. They were living separately from their in-laws but the family members were all in the same area. No one ever imagined that she could kill her own child. The family had mysteriously lost another kid four years back after which Ananya was born," said one of the neighbours.
Meanwhile, Sarika's parents had left for Bihar two days ago. Her sister is currently with her at the hospital. Doctors have told the police that she is unfit for any statement right now.
