A man was stabbed to death when he tried to intervene in a fight in outer Delhi's Miyanwali area, late on Sunday night. The accused has been identified and frequent raids are being conducted to nab him, a senior police officer said.

The incident took place at 11.55 pm, when accused Rajkumar, a resident of Miyanwali, had stepped out of his home. Witnesses told the police that he bumped into another resident of the area, Vijay, with whom he had some dispute. The duo had an argument, after which Rajkumar left the spot.

"About half an hour later, Rajkumar returned with a knife and attacked Vijay. Two residents from the same locality, Pankaj and Pooran, then rushed to help him. Seeing this, Rajkumar attacked them as well and injured Pankaj critically, before fleeing from the spot. Victims said he was drunk at the time," a senior police officer said. Pankaj, who had sustained stab injuries on his private parts, died of excessive bleeding.

"A case of murder and attempt to murder has been registered against the accused," DCP (outer) MN Tiwari said.
