Delhi's top bureaucrat has alleged that he was assaulted by the lawmakers of ruling Aam Aadmi Party in a late night meeting at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Monday.

The latest episode of confrontation between the bureaucrats and Delhi government has been termed as a 'constitutional crisis' by many political experts.

Here are 10 major updates from this big political story:

1: Delhi Chief Secreatry Anshu Prakash alleged that he was assaulted and abused by two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Monday night. Prakash complained to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal that Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan and another lawmaker attacked him in the presence of Kejriwal during a meeting.

2: In a quick response on the crisis, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, 'I am deeply pained by the happenings involving the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government. The civil servants should be allowed to work with dignity and without fear.'

3: All civil servants are backing Prakash. 'Till action is not taken we are not going to resume work. Today we will take out a candle march at Rajghat in protest. Home Minister has said he has asked for a report,' DN Singh, Delhi Administrative Subordinate Services President  said.

4: The BJP, meanwhile, has demanded resignation from Kejriwal. 'Does such CM have the right to stay on his post? Such CM has no moral responsibility to stay on the post. He must resign immediately,' BJP leader Sambit Patra said.

5: The IAS Association, Delhi has also demanded action against the culprits. 'The appalling and shocking physical assault meted out to the Head of the Administration of Delhi, in the form of blows on the head, amounting to threat to life and physical safety, is deplorable.'

6: 'The Associations strongly feel that above incident amounts to functional crisis and breakdown of governance and earnestly implore the Hon’ble Lt. Governor and the Govt. of India to take expeditious action against the perpetrators of the unfortunate incident,' the staement said.

7: 'In public interest officers and staff will continue to work in their offices. However, no officer will attend meeting beyond office hours, outside office premises, till such time effective action is taken against all people behind this incident,' IAS Association, Delhi said.

8: However, the AAP has rejected all teh charges. The party said, "About 2.5 lakh families deprived of rations last month due to faulty implementation of Aadhaar. MLAs were under tremendous pressure from public. There was a meeting of MLAs at CM residence. Chief Secretary refused to answer questions saying that he was not answerable to MLAs and CM and that he was answerable only to LG. He even used bad language against some MLAs and left without answering any questions."

9: "Now he is making such ludicrous allegations. Obviously, he is doing it at BJP’s behest. BJP has stooped v low in disrupting governance in Del thro LG and officers," an AAP statement said.

10: Reacting to the incident, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said, "Kejriwal should apologise for this hooliganism which took place before him."
