The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has sought a report from east Delhi's Ahlcon Public School in connection with the suicide of a Class IX student on Thursday. The child rights body also wrote to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) urging it to intervene in the matter.

The 15-year-old girl, a resident of Noida's sector-52, committed suicide on Tuesday. The family has alleged that sexual harassment led the girl to commit suicide, an allegation denied by the school authorities. Meanwhile, two teachers and the school principal were booked for sexual harassment, abatement to suicide, and criminal intimidation on Wednesday.

"The DCPCR has sought a report from the school as well as the Delhi education department on this unfortunate incident. We sought details of her mark-sheets to check the tampering allegations. The mark-sheets are very important evidence in the case and it can clear many doubts," said DCPCR chairperson, Ramesh Negi.

The commission has also sought FIR copies from the Noida Police. "We have urged the NCPCR to intervene since it's an inter-state matter. We will need their help in further enquiry of the incident," he said.

The commission has also suggested the school and the police to talk to the friends and family of the deceased to understand her "psychological status". "Since there is no suicide note left by the girl and only her parents are coming out with the allegations, it's very important to carry out a multi-dimensional investigation in the case," Negi said.
