India have beaten Australia hands down in the four-match series and it fittingly ended at the Gabba, where the visiting side breached the hosts' fortress to become the first team to beat Australia in Brisbane in 32 years.

Virat Kohli, who captained India in the first Test where they lost by 8 wickets after getting all out for just 36, took to Twitter to appreciate the Indian side, as many had given this side sans-Kohli and without many otehr players as the injury count was rising, India's resolve and belief defeated the Australian side. India became only the second side after South Africa to win two Test series against Australia on their home soil.

Taking to Twitter, Kohli filled with pride and emotion, wrote, "WHAT A WIN!!! Yessssss. To everyone who doubted us after Adelaide, stand up and take notice. Exemplary performance but the grit and determination was the standout for us the whole way. Well done to all the boys and the management. Enjoy this historic feat lads. Cheers @BCCI"

No Kohli, No Ashwin, No Jadeja, No Ishant, No Shami, No Umesh, No Jadeja and India won 2-1 against Australia with the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, David Warner, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. A historic victory for a team where the adjectives about their mental strength and confidence in their abilities trumped over their skills.

By the virtue of this win, India leapfrogged Australia in both the Test rankings and the World Test Championship rankings, as their hopes of qualifying for the Lord's summit clash got a further boost after the Gabba win.

Earlier, opener Shubman Gill set up the Indian team with an agressive 91 after which Pujara and Rishabh Pant sealed the match for India, winning the series 2-1.
