The current season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) has arrived at the knockout stage.

The final day of the league stage in IPL 2018 i.e. May 22 started with Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals looking to capture the last available play-off spot.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday confirmed their place in the IPL 2018 play-offs with win against Surnrisers Hyderabad. With SRH and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) having already made it to the play-offs, that left only one spot open.

However, Delhi Daredevils knocked Mumbai Indian out in the first match on Sunday. DD's win has given KXIP a little hope to qualify for the play-offs.

However, they need to defeat Chennai Super Kings in their last league game as well as surpass Rajasthan Royals in the Net Run Rate.

Here's how KXIP can qualify

KXIP need to beat CSK by a huge margin. Rajasthan are slightly ahead of Punjab in net run rate. So, Punjab would need a big win to overtake them. Punjab will have to beat Chennai by more than 53 runs to make it to the top 4.

Here's how RR can qualify

Rajasthan have 14 points while Punjab had 12 before their match against CSK. RR will go through if KXIP lose the match. Even if KXIP win but not by more than 53 runs, then RR will enter the play-offs.
