Watch: A disgusted Janhvi Kapoor walks off when asked to comment on Priya Prakash Varrier's 'Sridevi Bungalow'

'Wink Girl' Priya Prakash Varrier seems to have ruffled some feathers even before making her debut in Bollywood. Her latest film 'Sridevi Bungalow' has already courted controversy because of its sensational plot. 

The 1-minute-49-seconds long trailer depicts Varrier as a lonely superstar who died in a fashion similar to that of legendary actor Sridevi. The 'Mom' actress passed away last year after accidentally drowning in a bathtub in a Dubai hotel. The title of the film has only added to the woes of the filmmakers. 

Sridevi's husband and Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor filed a lawsuit against the makers of the film soon after the trailer hit the internet. He has alleged the filmmaker of cashing in on Sridevi's death. 

At a recent award show, when Janhvi Kapoor was asked to comment on 'Sridevi Bungalow', she decided to simply walk off. Janhvi looked startled and found herself at a loss of words as a media reporter questioned her about the ongoing controversy regarding the film. Her manager interrupted and soon called off the media interaction. Although the actress didn't say anything, she made her displeasure felt.

Meanwhile, director Prashant Mambully and lead actress Priya have defended the film. Talking to Republic TV, the director said, "Sridevi has brought pride to all Indians, even I myself is a huge fan of her. I have received the legal notice which says we can't use the name 'Sridevi'. Since Sridevi is a common name it should not be a problem. However, we are ready to face all the legal issues."
