'They wanted someone who's not brown': Priyanka Chopra reveals she lost a Hollywood film because of her skin colour

Desi girl Priyanka Chopra is one actress who has been a major source of inspiration for one and all. The actress has become one of the biggest global icons, first with her American TV show Quantico and then her big Hollywood debut in Baywatch. Post that Priyanka bagged two more Hollywood films, A Kid Like Jake and Isn't It Romantic? Though, she has been bringing laurels to the country with her work, she recently revealed that she had lost out on a Hollywood film just because of her skin colour. In one of her recent interviews she revealed that last year, she was rejected for a movie because she's brown. 

While speaking to Instyle Magazine, Priyanka shared the details of the incident. She said, "It happened last year. I was out for a movie, and somebody (from the studio) called one of my agents and said, ‘She’s the wrong, what word did they used? physicality.’ So in my defense as an actor, I’m like, ‘Do I need to be skinnier? Do I need to get in shape? Do I need to have abs?’ Like, what does ‘wrong physicality’ mean? And then my agent broke it down for me. Like, ‘I think, Priy, they meant that they wanted someone who’s not brown.’ That affected me.”

On the work front, Priyanka is currently shooting for season three of her TV show Quantico in Ireland. Speculations about her next Bollywood film are rife as well. While the actress has reportedly given her nod to the Kalpana Chawla biopic, recent reports also suggested that she'll next be seen in Salman Khan starrer Bharat.
