Small screen's favourite bahu, Archana will be seen in the role of Jhalkaribai in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Ankita will be seen as a women soldier in Rani Laxmibai's army who rose to the position of a prominent advisor and the peak of their battle with Britishers, disguised herself as the queen. Rumours of her doing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati is now a thing of the past, as an excited Ankita spilled the beans about her debut film .

In an interview to a Mumbai daily earlier, Ankita had said "I'm indebted to Kamal(Jain) sir for this challenging role in a big-budget film scripted by Baahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad alongside a National Award-winning actress like Kangana, who exudes power and is an inspiration to all women." She waited for three years to find a perfect debut film and has no regrets about waiting for so long. Lokhande said, " I was always a content girl. I stayed with Pavitra Rishta for six years. Even after other left, I carried on because a mother doesn't abandon her baby. No regrets, my TV show gave me name, fame and money; and now I hope to repeat that success on a bigger platform."
