REVEALED: Varun Dhawan-Aditya Roy Kapur to play bhai-bhai in 'Shiddat'

A family affair 

Reveals our source, “Varun and Aditya will be playing brothers in the film, while Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt will play their parents. The two brothers will have a strained relationship throughout the film.” While Varun and Sidharth have played younger brother to senior actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar in Dilwale and Brothers, respectively, this is the first time two young Gen-Y actors will play brothers on screen. Unless you consider Kapoor & Sons where Sidharth and Fawad played brothers.

The period angle 

The film is set during the Indo-Pak Partition era, which means it will have a period setting. Our source adds, “Designer Manish Malhotra has already started planning designs for the cast from that era. The ’40s will be recreated and a huge set will be built in the city to shoot the film.”

Love triangle

“While Varun and Aditya play brothers, Alia is the bone of contention between them. So it’s a love triangle as well,” says our source. This won’t be the first time Alia and Varun are part of a love triangle. Both were in Student Of The Year, which, too, had a love triangle.
