After names like Janhvi Kapoor and Priya Prakash Varrier doing the rounds, Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty confirmed that Sara Ali Khan has been roped in as the leading lady in 'Simmba'. The young actress along with Ranveer Singh have also begun shooting for the film in Hyderabad earlier this month.

But did you know that Kiara Advani was also in the race? According to Deccan Chronicle report, Karan Johar wanted 'Machine' actress to be paired opposite Ranveer Singh in this cop drama. KJo who has directed Kiara in Netflix original drama 'Lust Stories' is really impressed with the actress and as per the news daily sources Karan's talent agency is taking care of Kiara Advani and pitched her for 'Simmba' as well. But the director Rohit Shetty didn't agree to that and felt she was a misfit for the role.

Earlier, Abhishek Kapoor was also upset with Sara Ali Khan for alloting her dates meant for 'Kedarnath' to Rohit Shetty film. Saif Ali Khan had to intervene and resolve the matter. DNA After Hrs had earlier reported that Saif along with Sara went to Gattu's office to discuss the matter.  “Abhishek explained his predicament to Saif and requested him to help him sort out the date hassle,” says our source, adding that the actor has apparently assured him his co-operation in doing the best he can. Saif had been requested to help clear this stalemate amicably,” reported our sources.

Ranveer Singh will be seen playing a notorious cop named Sangram Bhalerao in the film which is slated to release worldwide on December 28th, 2018.
