It was recently announced that the beautiful and promising daughter of Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan has been selected by Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar to play the female lead in Simmba. She will romance none other than Ranveer Singh in the cop-drama.

But much before the official announcement, there were a buzz that late actress Sridevi’s daughter was also being considered for the role. But it turns out, Janhvi’s own doing made her lose out to the role of leading lady in Simmba.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, both the young actresses were narrated the script but nothing was confirmed. However, soon after, Jahnvi went around telling everyone that she has been signed for the role and how she is nervous to feature alongside Ranveer even before any official confirmation from the makers. So, it was Jahnvi’s beating of her own trumpet that made her lose out a highly-anticipated film to Sara.

Meanwhile, it is not unknown that around the same time Sara was going through a rough patch as the director Abhishek Kapoor and producer KriArj Entertainmenther of her debut film Kedarnath were at loggerheads. Thus Karan, who is also Sara’s mentor, decided to get her on-board. For the unversed, Simmba is slated to release on December 28, Kedarnath was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on December 21.

Interestingly, now it will be Simmba, which will mark Sara’s debut in Bollywood since the release of Kedarnath with Sushant Singh Rajput looks unlikely. On the other hand, Janhvi is all set to make her debut with Ishaan Khatter in Dhadak on July 20.
