Naseeruddin Shah's psychological thriller Michael, that hadn't found any buyers for five years will finally release on the video-streaming platform Netflix, reports Midday.
The film is produced by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta.
Ribhu, who directed Te3N, is quoted saying, "Michael was my directorial debut, so it's special. Despite doing the festival rounds and receiving rave reviews, it did not get a theatrical release. I am glad that the production studio (Viacom) has put it out on Netflix. Finally, people can see it."
Shot in Kolkata, the film is about a tainted cop's relationship with his son. It premiered at Toronto Film Festival and was screened at other festivals like Shanhgai Film Festival and Venice Film Festival.
