Khandaani Shafakhaana features Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma and Badshah in lead roles
Remixing songs is nothing new in B-Town. The latest to join the list is Suneil Shetty-Raveena Tandon starrer Rakshak's song 'Sheher Ki Ladki'. The track is set to be receated for Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma and Badshah starrer 'Khandaani Shafakhaana'.
Even though Sonakshi Sinha is the female lead in the movie, she however will not appear in the recreation of the song featuring Raveena Tandon. Cocktail actress Diana Penty is set to step into Raveena's shoes for the recreation of the song which features in the movie.
Badshah, who also appeared in the movie, told IANS, “‘Sheher ki ladki’ is one of my favourite 1990s legendary tunes, and I couldn’t have been happier singing and performing in the song for this film. It will be a super fun experience recreating the magic with Diana on screen and I hope fans love my tribute to the track.”
Tulsi Kumar, who would croon the female voice, said, “Both of us were asked to understand the vibe of the 1990s for this song, and at the same time create a contemporary version using our strengths. There is an excellent rap which Badshah has aced.”
Interestingly this is not the first song which featured Raveena Tandon that is slated to be recreated. Her iconic number 'Tip Tip Barsa Paani' is slated to have a recreation in Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi, which is part of Rohit Shetty's cop universe.
Sonakshi Sinha, on the other hand, was in news earlier this year for featuring in the recreation of Helen's iconic song 'Mungda' for the movie Total Dhamaal. She appeared in the song with Ajay Devgn. Apart from Ajay, the movie was headed by Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jafferey and Sanjay Mishra.
