The Ambanis and Piramals have been busy with Isha and Anand’s pre-wedding ceremonies, which are being held over a span of two days in Udaipur.
When Isha Ambani, the daughter of India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, got engaged to Anand, scion of the Piramal family, at the picturesque Lake Como three months ago, the stage was set for a grand wedding. After all, two of the country’s leading business families were embarking on a new journey together.
Over the last few weeks, the Ambanis and Piramals have been busy with Isha and Anand’s pre-wedding ceremonies, which are being held over a span of two days in Udaipur.
Before kicking off the celebrations, the Ambanis decided to thank the city of Udaipur by organising a special Anna Seva. The family offered meals to 5,100 people (a majority of them with special abilities) three times every day from December 7 to 10. Mukesh-Nita Ambani and Ajay-Swati Piramal, along with the soon-to-be-newly-weds, were present at the function, where they served people as well as interacted with them.

Yesterday, a maha-aarti was held. It was followed by a musical soiree, which was graced by a host of personalities including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao, Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya-Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Sachin-Anjali Tendulkar, Vidya Balan-Siddharth Roy Kapur, Anil-Sunita Kapoor, Varun Dhawan along with his parents David and Lali, Parineeti Chopra, John Abraham-Priya Runchal, Sakshi Dhoni, as well as Janhvi and Khushi who were accompanied by their father Boney Kapoor. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, too, flew down to Udaipur while businessman LN Mittal reached with his family. The former First Lady of the United States Hillary Clinton arrived on Saturday afternoon.
The festivities seemed straight out of a fairytale. Apparently, over 100 flights landed at the Udaipur airport bringing in Indian and foreign guests. Tonight, pop icon and Grammy winner Beyoncé, who is known for hits such as If I Were A Boy, Crazy In Love and Irreplaceable, is all set to entertain guests with her mellifluous voice. There was buzz that pop star Taylor Swift too might be present. Award-winning Indian singers and composers Amit Trivedi and Shankar Mahadevan will also belt out their chartbusters. For those who came in late, musician John Legend had performed at Isha and Anand’s engagement that took place at Lake Como. Of course, B-Towners, too, upped the glam quotient with their presence and performances.

Isha and Anand’s nuptials, which will take place on December 12 in Mumbai, is the last of the high-profile weddings of this year, which saw Sonam K Ahuja, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas tying the knot.
