According to BollywoodHungama report, the Housefull producer is keen to bring Abhishek back in the franchise. The actor who wasn't initially meant to be a part of the fourth film in the franchise but everyone including director Sajid Khan wanted Abhishek back.
The entertainment portal quoted a source saying Akshay Kumar has taken Junion B under his wings and even shares his new manager with Abhishek. Sources told BollywoodHungama “Abhishek Bachchan is back in the Housefull franchise by popular demand. His character was not a part of Part 4 of Housefull. But then everyone is so fond of him. Beginning with producer Sajid Khan and his leading man Akshay Kumar. In fact Akshay is Abhishek’s new career adviser. He has been protective about Abhishek from the beginning. Akshay is not only guiding Abhishek into a new phase of his career, Akshay also shares his new business manager (Reshma Shetty) with Abhishek.”
Earlier there were also reports of Parineeti Chopra, Disha Patani and Kiara Advani are the top runners for the film in the film which has already roped in Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead.
DNAAfterHrs earlier reported that producer Sajid Nadiadwala and superstar Akshay Kumar are pulling out all the stops for Housefull 4. This film has become an obsession with the duo, who are also neighbours. Sources say whenever the two meet, even informally; they come up with punch lines for the Sajid Khan directorial.
Akki and Sajid (Nadiadwala) have also used their charm and persuasion powers to get Farhad Samji — the screenplay and dialogue writer of several hit comedy franchises including Housefull and Golmaal — to come on board and pen this fourth instalment. “Farhad needed a little bit of persuasion,’’ says our source. “He directed Housefull 3 with his brother Sajid Samji. They wrote the dialogues for it and Housefull 2. After their split, Farhad, who will now work independently, has been signed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment as a writer-director for two projects. However, in the case of Housefull 4, he will only pen the screenplay and dialogues.” Incidentally, the story of this reincarnation drama has been written by Sajid Nadiadwala. Set in two eras, one of which is close to the time in which Baahubali was based, it will be mounted on a mammoth budget. An insider says, “Plans are afoot to shoot that era on as lavish a scale as the Baahubali franchise.”
