Rajkumar Hirani, the helmer of blockbuster films like 'PK', '3 Idiots', 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S' and 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' has worked on his first biopic and had painstakingly written the film on the basis of 300 hours of recorded audio.
Dutt Biopic will trace the lesser-known journey of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. There was only an official announcement made on the film's cast and release date, apart from that the content of the film has been kept hidden under wraps.
Now Rajkumar Hirani has revealed that the teaser and title of the film will be unveiled on Tuesday, April 24. Days prior to the release of the teaser, Rajkumar Hirani is hoping that Sanjay Dutt, who is also a friend of Raju likes his depiction of Sanjay Dutt's life when he watches the teaser.
Ranbir Kapoor will be seen essaying the role of Sanjay Dutt in the film. The actor will be seen in a totally different avatar in the film. Ranbir, who is all set to play Sanjay Dutt's character in the film had undergone a tremendous transformation for his role in the film.
The actor will be seen in 6 different looks and will be playing two journeys of Sanjay Dutt's life in the film. Earlier images from the films set showcased striking similarity between Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir had learned the nuances and accent of Sanjay Dutt very well apart from the physical transformation that he underwent for the role. Ranbir also had adopted Dutt's unique strut for the film by watching almost 200 hours of footage, transformed himself physically and also sported a wig to properly resemble the actor's iconic 90's mane.
The biopic on the life of Sanjay Dutt is written and helmed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film will also have Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.
