On the eve of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 56th birthday, came the good news that all Salman Khan fans had long been waiting to hear. It was announced that 19 years after 'Hum Dil Ke Chuke Sanam', Sanjay Leela Bhansali is now set to reunite with his favourite muse - Salman Khan - for a romantic film - which has been tentatively titled 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 2'.
Since then, several actresses' names have been doing the rounds for the lead part opposite Salman. Everyone from Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone to Anushka Sharma are said to be in contention for the role.
It was recently reported that Salman is keen on having Katrina as his leading lady while Bhansali wants to cast Deepika, instead. However DNA's Poll result indicates a totally different trend. It turns out the audience wants to see neither Deepika nor Katrina opposite Salman.
As per our poll result, around 42% voters want Kareena Kapoor Khan in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 2'. Priyanka comes second at 35% votes and Deepika, third.
Last year in an interview with DNA, when asked if there is something that she wants and haven't got it yet, Kareena had excitedly said, "Maybe a movie with Sanjay Leela Bhansali (laughs). But for that, Taimur has to be at least 10 years old because I can’t leave him before that. That’s the joke between Sanjay and me that we are star-crossed lovers (smiles)."
For years Kareena was on board to play the lead role of Mastaani in 'Bajirao Mastani' and at that time Salman Khan was to play Bajirao. In fact, they had even shot for the poster in the early 2000s. But, as we all know things didn't fall in place. Later, Kareena was even signed for 'Ram Leela' but she walked out of the film just weeks before the shoot started. Things reportedly turned ugly between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Kareena Kapoor Khan post that.
Recently, Kareena revealed on her radio show that she was offered a big film opposite the country’s biggest superstar but she rejected it because it would hinder the time she gets with her son Taimur Ali Khan.
Filmfare later reported that the film she was talking about was 'Bharat', which also faced trouble with its leading lady after Priyanka Chopra backed out of the film because of her wedding. It maybe possible that Kareena was offered the film after PeeCee and like she said, she rejected it.
So, will Salman and Bhansali re-consider Kareena for their romantic drama?
