I was beaten up because I voted for BJP: Gurang Patel

A complaint was lodged with Naranpura police by a 34-year-old man after he was attacked allegedly because he voted for the BJP. The accused assailant claimed to be a Congress supporter.

The incident took place on Monday around 11.40 pm outside Jay Ambe paan shop in Naranpura. The complainant Gurang Patel, is a resident of Haripark society.

He said that he had gone to the pan shop when the accused, Anil Vyas, came to the spot and started arguing with him regarding the election result.

According to his complaint, Vyas started abusing him. When Patel tried to respond, Vyas allegedly hit him on the head and fled from the spot. Patel was rushed to a hospital and later on Tuesday morning, a complaint was lodged with the police.
