Electoral roll revision to continue till July 31: Avantika Singh

The campaign to add, alter and remove names from the electoral roll has been started in Gujarat since July 1.

Voters who want to change their name or address in the electoral roll can do so by filling the respective forms till July 31, said collector Avantika Singh while talking to mediapersons on Tuesday.

The campaign to add, alter and remove names from the electoral roll has been started in Gujarat since July 1. One can avail and fill the forms by visiting their respective polling booths from 10 am to 6 pm including Sunday till July 31. The forms are also available online, she said. District education officer has been made the nodal officer of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), she said. Responding to a query, she said, “Those not having Voter ID card can vote by taking their photo voter slip along with them at the polling booth.”

Designated officers have been deputed in 38 colleges in the district. They will distribute form no 6 to get names added in the roll besides admission form to students. The district administration has also sought details of the number of births, deaths and building use nod given by the AMC and AUDA in last five years to make door to door visits and create awareness.

Till July 1, the electoral roll of Ahmedabad district had names of 51,39,846 persons including the third gender.
