Queen Elizabeth II recently celebrated her 85th birthday at Westminster Abbey.

She handed out Maundy money to 85 men and 85 women in a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages, reported the Daily Star.

Buckingham Palace said it was the first time the Queen's birthday had fallen on Maundy Thursday.

During the ceremony, the Queen handed out purses that were carried on trays held by a Yeoman of the Guard.
