ISI chief meets Saudi Arabian King Abdullah

Pakistan's ISI chief has met Saudi Arabian King Abdullah and delivered a message from president Asif Ali Zardari to him in Riyadh.

Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt general Ahmed Shuja Pasha met Saudi King Abdullah ibn Abdul Aziz last night in Riyadh and delivered Zardari's message to him.

Abdullah assured Pakistan of the kingdom's support for the fight against militants.

While assuring Pakistan of Saudi's support for the campaign against militancy, King Abdullah said the sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers and people will not go waste.

Pakistan army is battling Taliban militants in Waziristan. The army has mobilised over 28,000 soldiers to flush out an estimated 10,000 Taliban militants and foreign fighters from South Waziristan.

The military says over 300 militants and about 35 soldiers have died so far in the two week long military offensive codenamed 'Operation Rah-e-Nijat'.

Taliban militants have carried out more than two dozen suicide attacks in the last two weeks killing over 300 people.

Bilateral relations also came up during the meeting, reports said.
