Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina today termed her India tour as "cent per cent successful" after a three-day visit to New Delhi, her first since returning to power last year.

"The tour was cent per cent successful," Hasina said in a brief media statement on her arrival at Zia International Airport in Dhaka this evening.

She said she would give a detailed statement later at the ongoing session of the parliament and asked foreign minister Dipu Moni to make a report on the just-concluded visit.

Meanwhile, Hasina's archrival Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which had earlier termed Hasina's visit as a "failure," convened an emergency meeting of its highest policy making body later this evening.

The meeting is expected to come up with reactions on Hasina's visit, party sources said.

The right-wing Islamist Shashontantra Andolon staged a street rally accusing Hasina of compromising the national interest by signing three treaties and MOU's and agreeing to offer port facilities to India.

Hasina yesterday signed three pacts with India on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, Agreement on Transfer of Sentenced Persons and Agreement on Combating International Terrorism, Organised Crime and Illicit Drug Trafficking.

India also extended to Bangladesh announced a one-billion dollar line of credit to that country, the highest one-time grant by New Delhi to any country.
