A woman in the UK is thanking her stars after getting pregnant following a premature menopause at just 21.

Cassie Chapple, from Woking, Surrey, discovered she was expecting just as test results confirmed her chances of becoming a mother again even with IVF were almost zero.

"My choice to have more children had been ripped out of me," the News of the World quoted her as saying.

The delighted mum-to-be, now 30, underwent a special hormone test last October to consider if IVF was an option and found she was due to give birth.

The surprise continued as reports revealed she would need an egg donor to conceive.

She added: "I'm so lucky. Miracles do happen. This baby really is a godsend."
