Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's son-in-law was on Monday arrested by anti-corruption authorities in connection with corruption cases pending against him.
Mohammad Safdar was arrested from the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on his arrival from London.
The accountability court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant after Safdar after he failed to appear on previous hearings despite notices.
The NAB authorities had to seek the help of the Islamabad police when the charged workers of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N lay down in front of the NAB vehicle carrying Capt Safdar, reported the Dawn.
Both Capt Safdar and Maryam Nawaz are scheduled to appear before the court in connection with the NAB reference pertaining to London properties owned by the Sharif family.
